Catholic/IFS Integration
Dr. Amalu is continuously working to grow his practice of internal family systems (IFS) while grounding it in Catholic anthropology. He has done this through his doctoral dissertation, participation in the interior therapist community (ITC)/ Formation for Formators (FFF) group from Souls and Hearts, and through continuous education and consultation with fellow Catholic IFS therapists.
Faith-Integrated Scholarship
Dr. Amalu’s doctoral dissertation explored the intersection between the internal family systems model and Catholic anthropology, through the lens of psychological therapeutic factors grounded in the Catholic Christian Meta-Model of the Person from Divine Mercy University. This is the sole scholarly work to date that provides an academic basis for reconciling the tenets and practice of IFS with the Catholic tradition.
